10 Weeks!

Wow, we are in double digit weeks and getting close to the second trimester! This is crazy!  Yesterday S got her blood draw for the genetic testing done, she should get the results back in about two weeks, so we will know if everything is ok with the baby and we will find out the sex.  I'm so excited to find out I can hardly stand it!  We also found out this week that another lesbian couple that we are friend with in town are pregnant with their second baby and will be due two days before S!  So we will have some baby friends, exciting!  S has started taking the nightly nausea medicine I previously posted about and it seems to be helping.  She isn't 100% but seems to be doing much better, thank goodness.  She also seems to have a little bit of energy back, or at least she has been able to stay up to our normal times most nights.  She also is starting to get uncomfortable in her regular clothes and has been busting out her maternity close on the weekend a bit.  I'm guessing that in the next month she will need to be in them full time.  Here is her weekly picture along with some Jude in the bluebonnet a pictures that are a Texas tradition around here to take.  Aren't they cute?

8 Weeks!

S is 8 weeks and starting to look, at least to me, a tiny bit pregnant.
Not to anyone else yet but our baby is growing!  She is still pretty sick and I think has decided to skip the meds they gave her.  They for sure helped with the sickness but the next day she felt dizzy and shakey and not good. A coworker who is about five weeks ahead of her said it made her feel the same way.  So she ordered a bunch of ginger chews and things like that and hopefully it helps.  She also has been have two or three crackers about fifteen minutes after taking her thyroid meds and that is helping too.  She is supposed to wait thirty minutes to eat though so next week when she has an appointment with the endocrinologist hopefully they will say it's ok and her levels will still be fine.

First Ultrasound!

We had our first OB appointment today!  It went great!  We got to see our little gummy bear!  Everything looked perfect, you could see the little heart beating, and its measuring 8 weeks 3 days, which is 3 days ahead.  We didn't listen to the heart beat because this place doesn't like to use the Doppler before 12 weeks but they measured it with some sort of wave thing and said it was 163 which is exactly what it is supposed to be.  Here is the cute little blob!
It looked a bit more "baby" like during the actual ultrasound.  Next S will have a blood draw at 10 1/2 weeks to get genetic testing done and also to find out the sex (!!??!!).  So crazy, so awesome, so happy.  They also gave S some samples of an anti nasua drug called Diclegis.  She took one this afternoon and it seems to help.  But it does have a sleeping medication as part of it so it does make her sleepy so I don't think she will be able to take it during work. She is going to check next week with her endocrinologist to see if she can possibly take her thyroid pills before bed instead of first thing in the morning which could maybe help with all the morning sickness as well.  We will see.

Also, we are "Facebook official" and announced this afternoon.  S is too sick to hid things much and everyone I know I've told anyway.  So now the world knows!  And this was one of the cutie pie pictures we used to announce:
His shirt says "Soon to be a big brother" if you can't read it.  We are all so very happy.

Seven Weeks!

S is actually almost 8 weeks now, but I never got around to posting the picture.
She hasn't been feeling great, "shitty, a sick emotional mess made worse by trying to hid it," were her exact words on the subject.  She has been throwing up a lot, like we went from 5 times to something like 15 times, 3 times in one day even.  There have been cravings, Cheetos, chopped BBQ beef, custard with Carmel, but it all changes a lot because of the sickness.  I hope she starts feeling better soon but at least she says she isn't feeling as bad as she did with Jude.

Next Tuesday we have our first appointment with the OB!  I'm so excited to finally get to see this baby and hear the heart beat, all that stuff.  Can't. Wait.
