Six Weeks!

S is six weeks and some days pregnant now!  Wow!  And poor thing, she is so tired and so sick.  While she has still only thrown up the four times still, she doesn't feel great like 75% of the time.  And I think I can count on one hand the number of times she has stayed up past 9:00 pm on one hand.  Fingers crossed that she starts to feel better once she gets through this first trimester.  Which crazy enough, she is already more than half way through it!  I hate to see her feel bad, but I know it's a good sign that everything is going smoothly in there.  And her cutie pie picture
Jude had his 4 year check up this week, so more on that soon!

Night Time Potty Training and 5 Weeks Pregnant!

So a little less than two weeks ago we started night time potty training Jude.  It's something we have been thinking about doing for a long time but kept putting it off.  One of the big reasons that we were putting it off is that he never woke up dry and that's supposed to be one of the big signs they are ready.  But he's 4 now and for a while has been requesting to wear underware to bed so we decided to try.  First off we triple layered his bed with a water proof mattress protector and then layers of puppy pee pads and sheets so that hopefully if there were any accidents we could just peel off a layer instead of changing the whole thing in the middle of the night.  For the first three nights we switched him from diapers to pull ups with the explaination that he couldn't pee in them at all.  The first few nights we woke him up to go potty before we went to bed and then again around 1 or 2 am.  And he did great!  He still really wanted to wear undies and not the pull ups so we switched to undies and did the same thing for two nights.  Then we went to just waking him up once and kept moving that time later and later.  Now for the last three nights we haven't been waking him up at all.  And in all of this he has only had one small accident on the second night of not being woken up.  So great!!  We've been really proud of him but haven't been making too big of a deal about him doing it as we knew getting started that it was something his body was either capable of or not, unlike daytime when there is a bit of will involved.  So now I'm thinking that maybe he has been ready to do this for a while but we didn't realize because he was waking up and peeing in his diaper on purpose because he knew he could.  Either way I'm glad we didn't rush it and I'm so glad it's going so much better than I had hoped it would!

On the pregnancy stuff, S is now a full 5 weeks and into her 6th week!  She is still feeling about the same and is most noticeably very tired.  Last night she was falling asleep watching tv and finally got up and went to bed a little before 8:30.  And I think she wouldn't have any problems if she went to bed when Jude did at 7pm but she holds herself back to get some kid free time.  She does have more energy in the mornings though.  She is still feeling a lot of nausea and has thrown up 4 times now.  It does seem to be better than with Jude at this point but it's still there for sure!  Oh and she is burping like crazy!  But she is drinking tons of sparkling water and ginger ale and all of the burping seems to make her feel better.  Last night eating dinner all at once she was burping and Jude farted and I was like oh Jesus, please let this next kid be less gassy than these two!  Haha.  And even though she still looks the same, here is her five weeks picture!

Still Pregnant!

Tomorrow S will be 5 full weeks and starting her sixth week.  So exciting!  We have two friends who are both pregnant right now, mine is due at the end of next month and one is only a month further along than S.  They both love their OBs so we made appointments are each to check them out.  I can't wait, I need more medical proof of this amazing thing!  The first one is on the 22nd and is just a "meet and greet" and the appointment with the other doctor is on March 7th and that one is supposed to be the whole blood testing, ultrasound, and other stuff type appointment, not just a chance to meet.  And even though she doesn't look any different yet, here is a cutie pie picture of S at 4 weeks!
I can't wait for her to have a big baby bump again!  She really is the cutest pregnant lady ever!

She keeps going back and forth between feeling normal back to feeling pukey and has thrown up 2 times now.  She has discovered that Topo Chico, a sparkling Mexican mineral water, helps out a ton.  I also made her like 20 breakfast tacos to have in the fridge and freezer to help her have a small meal on hand at all times.  She says her uterus also feels like it's stretching from time to time like a balloon is in it and just in general has been cramping.  She is a bit dingy, super tired, and hungry all the time.  So she is full on pregnant lady!

We told Jude right away as he has been pretty aware of the process this whole time and it helps him understand why S won't wrestle around with him.  He seems happy about it and happy to be a big brother.  Though he has thrown two or three fits now about wanting a baby sister named Rosie, like on Caillou.  Hilarious.  I think he is going to be a great big brother.

Walking On Sunshine

All day yesterday that song was stuck in my head.  I'm so happy, over the moon.  We both are.  I'm worried about this sticking even though I have no reason to be worried.  In fact I asked S to take another pregnancy test tomorrow morning just to be sure, goofy I know.  It's just so weird not having everything be monitored by the fertility doctor.  No betas, no blood test, no super early ultrasounds, nothing till our "meet and greet" with the OB on the 22nd.  And even then I don't think that they will be doing anything, checking anything, just talking.  Argh, it sucks for once to be like everyone else.

It's a good sign, but the morning sickness has already begin with poor S.  She has been feeling like of nausea the last two/three days and even threw up in the sink this morning before work.  I have my fingers crossed that it's not as bad for her this time around but time will tell.

BFP!!!!!!

It's 5:30am here so we can't exactly tell anyone but you guys in blog land, but we had to tell someone!  S got a BFP this morning!!!!
Of course the line on the top test is pretty faint but it's there.  And the bottom one is a bit more clear.  Her period wasn't due till Tuesday so we are 12 days past ovulation and thus a day or two shy of being 4 weeks pregnant.  I love how they calculate that to give you two bonus weeks.
Ahhhhhh!!  October 19th!!!
Obviously if you know us in real life don't say anything as its a bit early ;)
We are having breakfast with S's mom and brother this morning so we will tell them as they knew we were trying.  And we will tell all the other close friends who knew.  It's hard not to text anyone or call right now despite the early hour.  I'm so dang excited!!!

Happy Birthday Jude!!

Our little man turned 4 on Tuesday. We re-did his room as superheroes for his gift from us. On his birthday he got balloons, a few small gifts, and Liz made cupcakes for his school for Wednesday morning too. He asked to go to Chipotle for his birthday, so we grabbed grandma and went. Liz took him to the zoo and then a friend of ours who is a firefighter took Jude to the firestation, which made this the best birthday ever! Fun pics of his room, some gifts, and some birthday fun!
